Steyning Downland Scheme

The Steyning Downland Scheme is a charity that exists to engage local people, and young people in particular, in enhancing their local landscape for the benefit of the community, the land and its wildlife. The 160 acre area is made up of chalk grassland, woodland and a chain of ponds. There are footpaths, bridleways and permissive paths all through the area, and it is largely open access to the public. The area has a great variety of wildlife and is well used and loved by the local community. Throughout the year we run events and activities and have a contact list of over 300 people whom we contact to keep up to date with what is happening on our site.
